BluesKing777 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 It's better, but marginal! Is it the whole photo or just the "N" bit? A friend was in Baltimore recently and was buying me a cap and when asked I said "Black, please!" So I now have 2 Baltimore Ravens T-shirts and a Cap - I know, I know , it's football. So I guess I am now a Ravens fan....... BluesKing777.

I don't know if they are keeping the old guitar shaped scoreboard or not. Σß
tpbiii Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I guess this has no Gibson content, but I thought I would post it anyway. Here is a Nashville Sounds promotional guitar I got in 2007 -- the year they won it all. My nephew Chris Barnwell played SS on that team -- he later went up to Milwaukee. I he got all the autographs for me -- probably a couple of Hall of Fame players on there. I never play it. Let's pick, -Tom

I see his autograph is on the front with #13. You never know who'll end up in the HOF. Don Mattingly got his start with the Sounds.(Man, that's been a while ago) I have a team-signed ball from the late '90s but the sigs are badly faded. Great pics. Great souvenir! Thanks for sharing. It would have to be with some of the competition you have in your guitar rack! BluesKing777.

I don't really play it -- it is basically a keepsake of my nephews baseball career. Because my late brother -- his father -- was born in Canada (during WWII while our father was in the army), my nephew was also able to be the SS for the Canadian national baseball team in the World Baseball Classic in 2008. One of my brother's dreams, but unfortunately he died a few months too early. The guitar has a built in pickup, but since we really are pretty much purely acoustic musicians, we have almost no guitars with pickups. However, we do end up with a modest number of non-bluegrass gigs where the venue expects you to be plugged in, and you are sort of swimming upstream if you don't. We have a couple of CA Legends for such occasions -- as well as for playing in the rain, while showering, or swimming in the ocean . Maybe the Sounds guitar's turn will come. Best, -Tom
