tvguit
Very sad news indeed. I hope he can pull through and get back to running his world class shop. All the best to Stan and family.
Salfromchatham
I bought five guitars from Stan. I love Mandolin Brothers. Very sad news - I pray for strength for his family. He is the ultimate guitar lover, and his gift for gab and language is unparalleled.
Kleinroq
I bought two instruments from him. Best wishes!
62burst
One of the more colorful characters in all of recent guitardom, Stan Jay. Quintessential New Yorker. Irreplaceable, just like his mecca for guitaristas, Mandolin Brothers. Wishing you love and light, Stan. Juan Carlos V offered up a YouTube of Stan playing a 12-fret SJ-200 which changed hands last January. A short little demo by Stan, always over too soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYSbG3LbK_g
EuroAussie
Oh this is very sad news, I hope Stan can pull through. I remember visiting NYC with the Mrs some 5 years ago and we made a trip to Mando Bros, and yes, it was quite an experience walking through the door and through Stans office who then took us on a tour of the shop, let us play anything we wanted. One of my fave guitar shops of all time. Stay strong Stan !
