1964 Melody Maker?

Hey everyone!

So I've gotten a trade offer. I've got a 2002 Les Paul Standard, which is an amazing guitar, and it's in amazing condition. No fret wear, no scratches, but the pickups are Classic 57's. 2002 was also an amazing year for Gibson.

Someone's offered to trade for a 1964 Melody Maker, single pickup, with the GV19 bridge (tremolo). All original, pretty great condition. A bit of checking on the front, and it's missing one fret dot, but the frets and body are in amazing condition.

What would you say the value of it is? Maybe $1300 or so? Would you say it's worth the trade?

He lives a couple hours away, so I can't really go out just to test it out a couple times. Obviously I would have to play it before trading, but it's not reasonable to meet up several times. I would just like to know what you think of the guitar, and whether it's worth it.

It's going to sound completely different than your LP. I have a 1960 MM, it sounds like a fender Tele bridge pup for the most part. They are fun to play but not as versatile as a LP. One of the dots had fallen out on mine too and was stuck back in by a previous owner.
