I used to have a sitar. I restrung it, took me two evenings. I tried playing it for a week or so. It became a wall ornament for several years. Sold it in the "I'm getting remarried and buying a new house so I need to get rid of a bunch of crap purge of 2012".

That reminds me....

The bouzouki is a great instrument... [thumbup]

Bass strings in octaves...akin to a turbo mandolin...

Plus all those great celtic spin-offs like mandocello...

Turbo mandolin.... I love it! Yes, it's a fun instrument to play and adds a lot to the Celtic sound.

I have two different vintage Martins as far as traditional acoustics go, but I recently picked up a Line 6 Variax acoustic 300. It's basically a electric acoustic that has true acoustic sound. It has incredible tone that you can adjust. I'm curious how many other folks out there play some type of electric acoustic, and what their experience has been.
