brad1 533
Once. It was the worst guitar, in every respect, that I have ever owned. Learned a valuable lesson, and never have since. In fact, for me, color is about the very last thing on my priority list when I buy a guitar. Sure, I have my preferences, but if it sounds great and feels great, I'm going to buy it no matter what the color. You can always change the color anyway.
tweed2 385
Yep. the G400 in this picture. It was the first one I'd seen in Korina, and it seemed to fit into the collection so well. I sold it recently, as it rarely got played. Replaced with a 62 RI Sheraton. Had it not been that color, I doubt that I would have bought it. But then, I guess I could say that I've bought all of the guitars I over the last 12 years, because of their color. If they weren't natural/blonde when I got them, they were after I got through with them. I wonder if that means something......
Jeffery Smith 2
I bought a rootbeer Agile Les Paul, just for the color.
bonzoboy 356
Way back around 1982-83 Iwent into my local music store one day and saw a Yamaha FG 346 dreadnaught that was the most beautiful shade of Blueburst that I have ever seen.I knew as soon as I saw it,I had to have it,and for the first time my decision to buy a guitar was based on the colour-I was lucky that the guitar also sounded incredible. The colour of the guitar was called Marine Blue by Yamaha and it did have an ocean greenish tint mixed in with the predominant blue. The Model of my guitar is FG-346 SB and the Marine Blue was a limited edition colour for just a few months spanning '82 and '83 I believe.I still don't have the computer smarts to post pix....some day I hope to get the hang of it and loose my Luddite ways. taxman 10
I bought one of my Casinos simply because of color. Â I first had the burst Casino. Love everything about it. But being a Lennon fan I desired a Casino in the natural finish. So I bought a second Casino...simply for its color. Â
Aster1 83
Â Had a JetGlo 330 Ric and LOVED the sound and playing on it, but just Jonesed for a FireGlo color. Cougar 198
Did you ever just buy a guitar for its color  Well, not just for its color. I wanted an LP Standard. Secondary was, what "color"? When I saw one in flamed transluscent amber, that was the one I wanted.

taxman 10
I always wanted an SG. Loved the classic cherry color, but never got the push to buy one. Then I saw this SG Standard in Natural Burst on that Sweetwater guitar gallery and it took me about ten seconds to buy it: Â Â Here's my Natural Burst SG. Sweetwater photographed it a lot better than I can: Â Â Â Â

Cougar 198
That's beautiful right there! Â Thanks, guys. Picked up off ebay. Flawless and perfectly bookmatched! I feel kind of guilty about not playing it much, preferring the cherry Dot and the blonde ES-339. I'm even thinking about selling it to put a little cash in my GAS account... (?) clarkuss 21
I have never seen a guitar and thought, I need that because of the colour but when I do buy a guitar, I generally want it in a specific colour. Â I'm not a big Fender fan but I have a strat and a tele but they had to be sonic blue and black respectively ;)
dangars 0
I actually bought my candy apple red les paul standard on the colour. Â I actually went into buy a bass guitar for my other half she has good taste she liked the epiphone sg bass. The les paul just caught my eye every time we walked past the shop, ended up asking to have a gander at it at and after 5 minutes playing it my mind was made up. It sung in my hands and is my go to guitar for most of my gigging and studio adventures. Â

Trouble is, I miss the JetGlo now!!!!   BTW, Beautiful Guitars All!!  Aster  I think (a lot) about getting a 330 Ric, in Jetglow, and having the Gold pick guard, and name plate... much like my 320 just to be different (from original spec's, that is)!    But, they sound, and play, great...regardless of color!  CB
taxman 10
Man, charlie brown, you have been posting one great photo after another. Beautiful stuff. Â That JetGlo Ric with the gold plastic is very nice. And I know what you mean by modding the guitar with the gold just to be different. I went MidnightBlue for my 330 -- just to be different -- and then I added the gold plastic to be even more different. It is a unique look that you really do not see much of.
