splake
, Can you guys shed light on if All Doves over the years have the same 1 1/2 or 1 8/16 nut width. I Know the 1960 reissue has 1 1/2,, , For instance if I was to buy a 1991 or a decade earlier whatever.., do all Doves have the same nut width as the 1960 re-issue? If not, can you guys specify what years have which width? thanks in advance . T.

Joe M
The 2013 Standard Dove that I had had the traditional Gibson 1.725' nut which is just 1/32 of an inch smaller than a 1 3/4" neck.
GDC
The '99 I had also has a standard nut.
Mojorule
So, Doves are male guitars? Do you think they named the model after the very narrow nut width cited in the original post?
JuanCarlosVejar
In 2012 Gibson made 2 batches of 50th anniversary Doves they had 1.525 nut withs Robi Johns talks about the first (and most expensive of the two batches) in this video around the 4:35 minute mark : Here's a photo of one from the second batch : JC
DanvillRob
1415745679[/url]' post='1589375']So, Doves are male guitars? I've always considered a Dove more of a male guitar and the Hummingbird more of a female guitar. In case anyone wants to "go off on me", I own both!
