onewilyfool
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/msg/4760276483.html I'm pretty sure it's NOT 1932 Gibson….lol….and how can you remove a Les Paul signature from a guitar?…..lol….$10K??….lol
j45nick
Looks like a banner LG-3 to me, assuming such a thing exists.
duluthdan
Wow ! If that is a Banner LG-3 it is a rare bird indeed ! Can't tell from this pic - it would have a 7-ply binding around the rosette. Probably would be worth more without Les Paul's signature me thinks. zombywoof
A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Best part is, as already noted, the guy may actually have a very rare guitar.

I think the LG-3 might not have come out until after the end of the war, when high-quality spruce was again available. I suspect all those gliders ate up a lot of good Sitka during WW2. stein
I will say this- For ANY guitar at 10 cake, there is going to have to be more than those pics and that info to be taken seriously. 10 thousand. Seriously. 10 grand. Maybe this is one of those "You have to buy it to really know what it is" kinda deals he is shooting for.

I think we're just speculating on what it might be.
onewilyfool
I emailed the guy to tell him the facts….let's see if he still mis-represents it….
j45nick
I emailed the guy to tell him the facts….let's see if he still mis-represents it…. I downloaded and enlarged all the photos, and if I had to guess, it looks like the whole guitar body might have been stripped at some point. Even the mahogany looks light in the photo of Lester signing the guitar. Of course, it's all speculation. It also looks like there might be a lot of wear on the fretboard. Once again, speculation. In any case, it wouldn't be worth more than half of what he's asking if it were a near-perfect banner LG-2, which it ain't.
BluesKing777
For a moment there, I thought my 59 LG3 might increase in value....... I mean, add a couple of buttons and electricity, probably the same neck and you have the much sought Les Paul Standard whose price spirals out at many famous auctions! BluesKing777. bobouz
Lester or not, I'm quite turned off by anyone's signature on the top of a guitar. Put it on the back & maybe that would be tolerable, but not on the top!
