jdgm
I'm sure many older forum members will remember Charlton Heston in "Soylent Green" (he was good in 'Omega Man' too but that's another thread) with Edward G. Robinson playing 'the Book' in his final film (the scene where he 'goes home' and tells Heston what he's found out which has made him choose voluntary euthanasia, is one I'll always remember)...classic quotes included "The scoops are coming!!!" and the final....."Soylent Green is people!" I don't usually watch movies but I saw that one twice... Well....someone had to do it I suppose - http://www.soylent.me/ It supposedly has everything you need to eat. Period / full stop. retrosurfer1959
man for those of us that are a little bit older they should have picked a better name. I mean with all the government controls and camera's 1984 is here it was only a matter of time for Soylent now if they want to copy a movie how about step ford wives. surfpup
I'm assuming they were going for ironic in the name choice but a fascinating idea for sure. We can be healthier and slimmer, and we can spend even more hours engaged in productive work!

daveinspain
OK but where is the social element where people get together at a good restaurant and are served wonderful creative dishes filled with amazing flavors and impressive presentations. Can you imagine have your family over for a big pitch of Soylent for Thanksgiving…? I don't think so.
