Californiaman
Growing up I was a big fan of Paul McCartney and Wings. Although, like many, it wasn't until Band on the Run that I really started appreciating McCartney's new group. Venus and Mars also shared time on my record player. Last night I heard a cut from Flaming Pie that I hadn't heard in a while. Story goes it was written in about an hours time and recorded that very day. Ringo, Jeff Lynn and McCartney recorded it with McCartney on bass, Starr on drums and Lynn on guitar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdgU5OuBe14

mojoworking
Flaming Pie is IMHO just about the best of Paul's later albums with a high percentage of classic tracks.
Tman
It's a brilliant album. I suspect that for a lot of us guitarists and bassists, we connect certain albums with periods of our lives. A couple of years after my ex wife and I split up, I got together with a woman that had 2 CDs at her place where we spent a lot of time - Flaming Pie and Shawn Colvin's A Few Small Repairs. I listened to Flaming Pie today. Flood of memories. Great music. A lot like Yes' Tormato, reminds me of a certain time in college. Not their most recognized work but personally a favorite. Californiaman
I think what attracts me to this song is that it's so raw and not over produced. It's simple and that works for me.
cookieman15061
I always felt that this album was 2 songs too long from ranking with his very best. A couple tunes just sound made up on the spot, like B side throwaways. I know I burned my own FP leaving off this song an one other, souvenir maybe. Saved me from hitting the FF button.
