weird! 1992 Gibson J-185 Koa With Nick Lucas AND Maltese Cross

Recommended Posts

EX POST Acoustic Forum!

I cannot find this exact guitar anywhere, and the serial number project says this is production number 1. This has piqued my interest! These guitars are easy to find with snowflake inlays and this and that, but I cannot find an exact same model. Here are some pics, serial number is 92062001

I can take more epics as needed, but the guitar doesn't have a custom shop label anywhere. Its weird that I can't find anything exactly like it!

I very much look forward to hearing what you fine people have to say!

I should say this is the information I got from http://www.guitardat...org/gibson.aspx

Guitar Info

Your guitar was made at the

Bozeman Plant , MA, USA

July 25th, 1992

Production Number: 1

For some reason the other pictures won't attach here as they would earlier. So sorry - http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/117613-weird-1992-gibson-j-185-koa-with-nick-lucas-and-maltese-cross/

I think that this is a hard sell (for that money) unless you have some documentation from Gibson...?

1991 and 1992 Gibson did alot of different styles not that were not in the standard line up.. I went through my fair share of the 91 and 92 acoustics that were way different than the catalog guitars. I agree that the price is kind of high.. one its a j185.. but not ornate enough ..

That thing is beautiful. I have no idea how many were made, but if you're going to sell it, be patient and you should get a very good price eventually. Hopefully somebody at Gibson will see this thread if we keep bumping it, and you'll get more info. Good luck!
