Tman
I traded my 2014 LP standard for a 2013 Goldtop Standard. Locking Grover tuners. It was a good deal and close to a lateral trade. I'm too much of a dinosaur to deal with the mini etune - now known as G force. It worked well, it's just not for me. I even went through what I thought was a thorough vetting process before I bought it. This gold top is the finest instrument I have ever played. Very pleased. Sounds killer through a Mesa Trans Atlantic. All the accouterments of a 2014 without the mini etune and the 12th fret banner. I played it last night while my wife was reading and she turned around and said', Damn that thing sounds really good and looks good too. Very classic looking." Can't beat that. Tman
Thanks all! Cookie I almost spit my coffee out after that one Initial observations: asymmetrical thin tapered 60's profile neck is amazing. Very comfortable. Tone pros bridge and stop tailpiece - an absolute stay in tune fortress - No flat notes coming in on my 6 I tell ya, even after big bending. The only thing I have noticed that isn't perfect is that the inlay on the 3rd fret is a bit proud to borrow an orthopedic term. Hmm. gotta play it a bunch to wear it down?
