Truss Rod Tool / key for my Epiphone "Special Model" Les Paul

Recommended Posts

Hello guys!

Do you know if there's a place online I could order Truss Rod Tool for my Epiphone?

I also posted a picture for reference (not sure what tool do I exactly need):

Thanks in advance.

For about .50 cents you can get one from any hardware store. For about a couple of bucks you can get a whole set.

That may very well be the case in the States, but I live in Croatia and I don't think we have those in the stores. :)

This is why I'm asking if anyone of you guys used them on your Ephies and which one to take, given the rod insertion is a bit angled and I'm not 100% sure a straight gripper would do the trick.

Yes, you're right. I got one today but it seems the nut is too worn and I couldn't turn it at all.. 😞

Inspect the nut with a flashlight. Make sure the Allen is going in all they way and isn't catching on a bushing. A truss rod with no tension shouldnt be tight enough to strip the nut. If it is, you have bigger problems.
