L8_4thesh0w
This is the best concert footage I've ever seen. He plays drums and throws out a tambourine and the chick who catches it almost passes out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1kk0X4jmAQ I got to see him at Tennessee Tech in '79, great show. L8_4thesh0w
Posted this one in the wrong section, again, so here it is in the right place. Volume is low but it's a video of him having a really good time on The Midnight Special. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJByorfSTPU
Marshall Paul
Terrific stuff mate, thanks for posting these. There's another one of him on that Midnight Special show where he's doing "Nowhere's To Far For My Baby". Just great stuff. Where he's playing his alpine white LP. I would try to post it here but I keep messing it up. Never seems to work for me! lol. I can't believe they keep making his signature Black LP with the wrong pups in it. (wtf?). Anyway, nice work mate! And I got to see him too, here in Adelaide in 1979 too. lol
surfpup
Such a talented guy. I know he caught some flack roundabout this time for sappy stuff like "In in You"... and that Sgt. Pepper film... but man could he play and sing!
DanvillRob
I went to a "Day On The Green" back about then and saw Frampton.....could have been this one, (I didn't see me in the crowd), But alcohol MAY have been involved.
Marshall Paul
He would have to be probably the most melodic rock guitarist I've ever heard. Jazz background.
L5Larry
First time I saw Peter was the "Frampton Comes Alive" tour, so I'm thinking like 1976. This was the tour in support of the album, not the one it was recorded on. I saw him again a few years ago, and he was just as good (and entertaining), if not better. If you get a chance to see him, DON'T MISS IT?
Marshall Paul
Sorry, it might have been '78 here in Adelaide come to think of it.
Fatstrat
Frampton was THE hottest ticket in 1977.
Marshall Paul
I used to be a huge fan of Steve Mariott's way back when, and when he started Humble Pie I naturaly followed him there. I remember seeing Pete for the first time then and thinking 'geez, who is this bloke, he's really quite good'. By the end of Pie, I was hooked on Pete's style and sound. By then I thought 'yeah, he's definitely got something special'. Followed him all the way to FCA! lol
L8_4thesh0w
Frampton was THE hottest ticket in 1977. I was working at Red Lobster when that tour came through. When a lot of people couldn't get the night off to go, several of them quit! I needed the money but I quit a few months later for a better job. Marshall Paul
I would've quit there and then. And then gone to the concert! lol
Marshall Paul
Frank Zappa on the movie "Baby Snakes" and on the song "Is That Guy Kidding Or What" from one of the You Cant Do That On Stage Anymore albums pokes fun at PF and how suggestive he is sitting on the cover and the shear audacity of the title of the album "I'm In You". You don't want Peter Frampton in you, do you? That's yucky. Very Freudian! LOL!
