How do you like it, with that nice ES-355 and any others you might play through it ? cool guitar It's a Mustang III v.2 along with a Mustang Floor. I use the floor unit for effects and the amp with dry settings for practice. I use it for all my electrics, solid body, hollow body, semi hollow, all of them. It's very convenient having a mess of Fender amps to mess around with in one simple box. For practice it's great. For live performance I use a Fishman Loudbox Performer for all my acoustics, hollow and semi hollow body guitars. it really pulls the wooden tones of these guitars and actually to my ear truly enhances the sound and performance of them. I also use a Fishman Platinum Pro EQ/pre amp on the acoustics, nylon and steel. For solid body guitars in a live environment I use a Laney Cub tube amp. I don't play distorted guitar any more, I leave that to the kids coming up behind me and the Laney miked up provides me with a very warm and crystal clear sound at a very nice price. Most recently, that's been my Telecaster, my AIUSA Sheraton II, and my TV Yellow Gibson double cut LP Special! What Fun! But, I'm still very much "in Love," with my SG's! Currently, my go-to guitars are the '56 Gold Top, and the ES-175 Premium, for completely different sounds and reasons. I love all my guitars, these are just my current favorites. I'm with you on this one, although I have just bought a casino again and she's getting played a lot!!! You're the first person I've seen who's taken off the pick guard, I've done the same to mine, purely for looks of course. With such a lovely finish it seems a shame to keep her covered. Funny, you wrote this now; I just saw a picture on the internet of my guitar with the pickguard installed and I put mine back on. I had it on the guitar for about four hours and off it came again. I am a fickle person I guess, I like the way it looks with and without but the the comfort bit won out for me. Al B. Posted April 21, 2015 Share Posted April 21, 2015 At the moment I have several guitars, some new some owned since the 70's. Along the way others have come and gone for one reason or another. The two guitars that have endured are my 68 Melody Maker and my 72 Les Paul Deluxe. both are Gibson and both have been modified thru the years as needed to suit. I still use the LP as my most often reached for regardless of music style. At the present I'm leaning towards Jazz and slide Blues. The L.P. just has the nicest feel and fits any style. For more traditional Jazz work I'll go to my archtop, for jazz/blues I'll pick up my Epi ES-335, for good ole R&R the Melody Maker, but the LP works for all. crust Posted April 24, 2015 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Since I acquired this particular instrument, I have been putting more "playing time" time on it than most of my other guitars. Something about it makes me want to plunk and strum it, often. It sounds so darn great and looks...well, it looks like no other electric guitar from any other guitar manufacturer that I've ever seen (unlike Stratocasters, Telecasters, Les Paul and "Electro-Spanish" style electric guitars). And, I don't believe anyone else makes an electric guitar that looks quite as similar (other than Epiphone themselves). It is very comfortable, for me...the neck is "fast", no hand cramps, yet.:) I have it set up in the small studio, within easy reach. Man, is this one neat-o electric guitar. Dig it. Pesh Posted April 24, 2015 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Of the 3 electrics; all get a share of love. But the "go-to" is probably the '14 Studio. It lives on a wall-mounted hanger, as does the Strat. The '13 Traditional Pro lives in her case most of the time, as it is my first Gibson and my pride and joy. She comes out often enough; but as I'm in the process of moving home, with my possessions moving about the rooms a lot at the moment, I'm not risking it! I also prefer the feel of the Gibson over the Strat; while both necks are wonderful in the hand; the Gibson radius beats the Fender every time for me.
