jdgm
Trumpet player Clark Terry, a jazz icon if ever there was one, has passed away at age 94 after an extraordinary life. If you are over a certain age you will have heard this guy on many albums and records, possibly without even knowing it. An incredible trumpet player. One of America's great original artists of the 20th century. I can't even begin to list his many, many accomplishments as it would take so long - here is a link to the Wiki page which will give you an idea - just check the discography! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clark_Terry R.I.P. jannusguy2
I had the pleasure of working with him in the 80s when I booked a jazz club. He was a gentleman through and through and a musical giant. RIP.
Cougar
Clark Terry, Clark Terry... Oh yeah -- Mumbles! He was much more than Mumbles, of course, but that was my familiarity with him. An absolute classic!
L5Larry
He was a gentleman through and through and a musical giant. Yes, about 10 years ago I got to spend a couple of hours with him. A finer person you will never meet. He was part of my list of what I like to call "The Great Gentlemen Of Jazz".
