Sabredog
Hi I want to add a burstbucker 3 to my Les Paul, The new Les Paul's have the circuit boards with the quick connect pickups. And of course they don't make a burstbucker 3 with the quick connect connector. So has anybody managed to add a quick connect to old pickup wires or a pickup with normal 4 wire Conductor. Or is anyone been able to solder the wires onto the circuit board Somehow. sdog
Mr. C.O. Jones
I read on other forums that people managed to do it. Gibson uses Molex connector's you will need to buy the plastic housing and the terminal pin's. What I don't know are the exact part number's. Once I had a similar problem, and was looking on the Molex homepage but it was realy confusing to find something that looked like the ones on my PCB. I guess it would have been easier to ask the Molex guy's via mail.

And solder and in-line connection and put some shrink wrap over each individual wire I think that seems very doable. So I bought the exact same for wire conductor style all the wires match one red one green one white one black one ground. I'll let you know how it goes, sdog
Pesh
I'm guessing that wiring everything by hand is not an option?
Sabredog
I did it on a SG I had. Just cut the wires coming out of the quick disconnect, but leave enough to connect the new pup to. Inline solder and insulate the solder connections with tape. Easy. very good! Yes I repeated that same exercise. I wish I would've left a little extra wire on the connector side. but I also want to leave enough wire to reinstall the super 57 in another guitar. If I did it with no connector. I left 3 inches from the white connector to the cup point so when I stripped the wire I stripped about 1.25" And the same on the pickup side. So there was very little actual wire left before the connector. But it worked fine of course I had plenty of wire on the pickup. I forgot to snap a picture before he threw it back in there. I was able to use the very smallest shrinkwrap tubing it shrunk over the in-line soldering very nicely. Then taped all of them together with a piece of black tape looked great works great.
