Blak and Blu

As the Gary Clark Jr. Casino is a limeted edition does anybody know how many of these beauties were/will be made?

In Germany they are already sold out and no dealer knows, if they'll get a bunch more.

The first run was bought out by Musicians Friend, American Musical supply, Sweetwater, and Guitar Center for the most part. My local music store (an authorized Epiphone dealer) was told this by Epiphone when he tried to order a few. Being that they said "the first run" leads me to believe there will be several. As far as a production number.....I have no idea.

I work in Sam Ash in Huntington New York and we have received the Blak and Blu with the Bigsby already.

I've sent that question to the Gibson/Epiphone customer service. Here's the answer:

"The limited edition designation means the model is made in limited numbers. The exact amount made is considered as confidential however."

What's the point of making limeted editions without telling numbers?! I don't get it.

So sellers can tell buyers anything they want.

IMHO you are correct. Or maybe so if it takes off, they can produce them for years (i.e. The Lennon Casino). Or if it's a dog then they can pull it without public backlash by stating " we are sorry you didn't get your Gary Clark Jr Casino, but we told you it was Limited Edition"

I don't think they overthink it that much. People seem to be of the belief that some low number of guitars makes them worth more, so sellers can tell a certain percentage that "yeah, you know, they only made 400 of these..." and those people will immediately take that as some badge of ultimate quality. It isn't, it's only a number that somebody has to decide at some point.

Read #26 and you maybe understand why I care. It's nearly impossible to get one in Germany. Even the big dealers got only a small number, sold them in like hours and no one can tell, if they´ll get more. While the majority of US dealers got them in stock this week, the whole thing went through in Germany a few weeks ago.

It took me a huge effort and good connections to get mine (today)... here's a little unboxing:

there are very few Epiphones that aren't "Limited Edition". it's practically on the back of every headstock. unless they market it ## of #### then that usually means they haven't set an exact amount to be made. I would also imagine that production dates will vary since the pickups have to be shipped from the US to China.

BDX. Congratulations, that is one sharp guitar. How does it play? I'm still waiting on mine. American Musical Supply told me either the 9th or the 11th. If it doesn't ship by Monday afternoon, I'm gonna cancel my order and get one from their competitor who happens to have them in stock.

It has great playability out of the box, looks stunning and feels just right to me. I'm used to play a 50th anniversary Sheraton, that I really like, but this Casino just feels better. And the sound of the Gibson P-90's... I'm in love! Surprisingly they're a bit quieter and got more bite than the Mini Humbuckers on my Sheraton and also compared to the P-90's of my fathers standard Casino. But you still get the warm woody sound from the hollowbody construction. To me it's like the already great (standard) Casino got better in every way.
