James Allen
I built a model rocket once... Yeah, but it exploded on takeoff. I heard that it was painted up like Josey and the *****cats.
Cruznolfart
I lived in Huntsville' date=' AL for 10 years; couldn't wait to leave and I'm so glad I joined the Air Force.[/quote'] Egg-zakly the same way I felt about Yuba City, CA. Except I only lived there 4 years. Well, I didn't join the AF, either. OK, it was a little different. But I was glad to be gone from there and I still am...glad...and gone. rocketman
I guess that makes me a semi-geek. I'm a technical specialist at an aerospace company. Some of the antennas I've worked with are on Mars right now (the Mars Rovers)' date=' some have been destroyed (on purpose...Deep Impact...smashed into a comet) and others are...well...out there.[/quote'] Very neat! I'm doing a little bit a Mars-related work these days on a very difficult problem. Basically, NASA wants to land on Mars with an accuracy of 100 m using only one GPS-like orbiting vehicle for navigation. It takes four to do it properly. I've been to JPL many times and have seen their facilities, including the rover models. It's good to see people near NASA centers here too! The are fun to visit. I actually worked at NASA-Goddard in MD. I also did a lot of work with NASA-Johnson related to the space station, while I was a prof at Texas A&M. If you google space station and leak localization you'll be able to see some of my work (we came up with a new method to determine leaks on the space station). I still do a bit of work with NASA but most of my stuff is funded through defense agencies these days (can't get too specific here). But I'm dumb as a stump with this guitar stuff, which is why I'm here. Guys like AXE®, Thundergod, Tim (aka R9 or Are 9), RichCI, ChanMan, surfpup, daveinspain, KSG_Standard and others here (sorry if I've left people out) are true Gibson and guitar gods (Neo too when he comes back!). They don't teach you about using naptha (lighter fluid) for a gooey guitar neck in school!

Dynadude
Master carpenter. Did that for over twenty years, then worked at a Harley dealership as a tech for 12 years. Unemployment checks right now, and hopefully for the next four months. I figure I'm due for an extended vacation, and the wife makes great money, so all's well for now. I do a little guitar setup and repair on the side, along with the usual seasonal side work. Lawn care, and leaf removal is a great gig in this area. I can make $150 cash per day, when I feel like it. Californiaman
Sounds a bit mafia like. You sure you're not in Jersey instead of Cali? Surfpup, I work where ever there's a job to do and someone to pay me. California's certainly the land of opportunity, but Vegas is close. The east coast is just a plane trip away.
