What a superb guitar...!!

Something in the region of a thinline ES175 with P90's and a vintage Les Paul tailpiece..

A refreshing alternative IMO to the H/B way of life.... <_<

Thanks folks....it really is a dream.... [thumbup]

The P90's are under-wound so do not 'shout' too much...

Body is light weight

Bridge/tailpiece is period correct...not perfect for intonation...but may well enhance tone...

Quite fat neck feels good

Finish uses 'old tech' aniline dyes...and with extra 'bloom' has a lived in look... [thumbup]

Sounds very 'semi acoustic' when finger picked clean

So is a very 'versatile' guitar indeed... [biggrin]

Congratulations, V!

Super nice! [thumbup]

If I ever get to buy a new Gibson again, it will be something similiar.

Enjoy it with good health!

Best wishes... Bence

Absolutely beautiful. Been following the re-release for awhile, but haven't seen one in the stores anywhere (which isn't that surprising). My main guitar is a ES225TD from around 1957. Something about the neck and the way those P90's respond make it a soul mate guitar in my case. Post some pics at some point. They are just so dog on pretty! Congrats on the NGD! [thumbup]

Thanks brant and others.... [thumbup]

Yes there were probably only 2 or so in the whole UK at this time...a niche instrument...

As far as I can tell, this guitar came about in the mid 50's and would therefore occupy the latter end of hollow P90 development (excluding the ES330/Casino)...

The ES135 of 20yrs ago looked similar but quickly evolved into a H/B equipped centre block instrument...

Gibson have made the H/B their own in many ways since '57

But it is nice to have S/C choices from time to time.... <_<

Ric's and Gretsch's IMO often veer towards the Country end of the spectrum (notwithstanding Beatles et al)

The Godin 5th Avenue is a very popular alternative....

You also had the ES125TDC that came about shortly thereafter. At a distance they look almost identical, but if you hold one and look at the details you feel the difference. Epiphone has some interesting P90 offerings, but other than the 330 there aren't that many production hollow body P90 guitars by Gibson. Over the last decade though, there has been a rise in interest for P90's and you've seen the 50's tribute Les Paul Studios, Les Paul Juniors, etc. become more popular. That popularity is relatively small though. Glad you enjoy your new guitar. Can't wait to see pics.

Beautiful JAZZ guitar, nice for playing extremely complicated passes that only hollow bodies can do. This guitar reminds me a lot of my Gibson ES135 that you can see in my first season of Expert Advanced Jazz Theory Lessons for Professionals Only. Amazing guitar!!

Awesome guitar, brah!
