btoth76
Sure! ...and it's the best from Fender, as far as I am concerned. Hence, I'll not buy any other guitar from them. Cheers... Bence

pippy
I also have a Butterscotch / Maple / BlackGuard Squier Tele which is a great-player but I don't seem to have a snap of it...... Pip. EDIT : Here's the Squier. The black Strat-like thing was given away some time ago; ...and here is a snap from circa 1984 showing a few of the "Gone but Not Forgotten" Fenders I've had over the years - clockwise from rear-centre; 1967 Fender 'Swinger' in black; '71('72?) Strat in tri-burst; '82-ish '57 R-I Strat in two-tone 'burst; all-original '64 Strat in LPB. The G-T copy was my first ever guitar. A 1976 'Grant' LP. The p'ups were swapped for these DiMarzio 'Dual-Sounds'. I still have it. It's surprisingly good for a cheapie. The other 'Strat' is a Tokai 'Springy Sound' which belonged to a bandmate. btoth76
American Fender Select Stratocaster ... Thank You! Yours' are superb too. I remember seeing the above one in my fav local shop. It was wonderful - I am just not a Strat guy. But I have to admit, I was thinking: it's made like a Fender would do a Les Paul :) Cheers... sg50
It's a Baja. It's not perfect, the nut, for example, is cut terribly, but it's fun to play and it has a sound I couldn't otherwise get.
Karloff
Karloff from the looks of that neck you've played that bad boy a lot 4H yep, i've had it many years. it has an odd wear pattern on the neck. it was 2 years old when i got it, and the wear had begun, and just worsened over the years. Lately i've been thinking about getting another Strat.

A Jazzmaster, a Jaguar, a Modern Player Thinline Tele and a Modern Player Marauder. I have a couple of their amps also. ksdaddy
1965 Model 800 pedal steel. Bought it from an 87 year old. I believe it sat in it's case since around Woodstock because NOTHING worked. It's cleaned and ready to go, if I were brave enough to set up the copedent (pedal configuration). I'm quite leery of it and may get rid of it to buy a 6 string (non pedal) on legs: 1985 D'Aquisto Standard. I recently picked this up and the long version of the story is as follows: It was traded in at Ezzy's Music Shop in Van Buren, ME in 1989. Mike Ezzy offered it to me at that time for $750. I didn't bite. I was dead set against any Japanese Fenders. In 1990 I softened up a little and spent an hour or two with it in the store. At that time he dropped the price to $550. I came very close to buying it but at the time our first baby was just about ready to be born. In fact the last time I saw the guitar was in June of 1990 when my (extremely pregnant) wife and I took a drive in my 1973 VW bus and ended up in Van Buren. I knew the only way to own it was to put it on plastic and I just didn't dare. Fast forward to about 2005, I discovered that it was still owned locally and supposedly I worked on it or at least gave it a checkup but I don't remember it taking place. I even have a handwritten letter here somewhere from the owner thanking me for working on his guitar. I don't remember it at all. Skip ahead now to 2014, the owner put it up for sale for $1400. I agonized over it and over the next year we exchanged a few emails until he offered it to me for $1000. The previous owner was meticulous and hardly ever used it, and when he did, he might have placed doilies on it and wore a bib and latex gloves. It's 30 years old and still in beautiful condition. 1965 Palomino. belonged to a busker in Mississippi. It had dessicated masking tape holding it together and the "pickguard" was a piece of black contact paper. I pieced it back together, all the while preserving the patina. I sold it on ebay and immediately regretted it. I almost cried while I was boxing it up. I took a chance and offered the buyer a chance to back out if he was having second thoughts and thankfully he DID. This is a horrible guitar. Horrible. Horrid. Heinous. But I love it for some reason. 1983 Strat. This was made during the "Smith Era" of Fender, one page of which involved them transitioning back to the 4 bolt neck and cutting the oversized headstocks down. Also using up old parts, ergo the black plastic when they had switched to white 2 years previous. The pickups are dated '79! It will cut glass. Nothing subtle here. 1983 P Bass. Somewhat the same scenario as the Strat. The electronics are dated 1981 and it has a 1979 serial number on the headstock. It came with the original black WARPED pickguard (also outdated leftover stock like the Strat's) so I replaced it with a white Fender guard. Nice bass! And of course, my musical soulmate, the 1977 Telecaster I've owned since Day One. Any note that is in my head comes out this guitar. I can play things I never thought possible. It can get violent sometimes. I think that's it. Not sure.
