I am a big fan of Slash, and he has Seymore Duncan Alnico Pro II pickups. I have a 57 reissue historic Les Paul custom outfitted with gibsons Burstbuckers.

I am not about to tamper with my guitar, but I was just wondering how these two pickups compare with each other becuase i really do like slashs tone.

I have an the Pro Alnico II in my SG Standard's neck and I love it. It is very buttery and a little bit lower output than a lot of other humbuckers. It really sounds great. Despite the fact its so warm and smooth there's great clarity there too which I find to be lacking in Gibson's stock pickups.

Using the right amp is just as important as the pickups though. What are you using?

thats good to hear about the alnico ii's . i bought a seth lover for my neck pickup and its ok but i need something with more bite and less output. the seth lover was more output and a little bassier sounding then i expected. im looking for a neck pickup to replace the 57 classic .
