Chicken Shack

I'm not sure I've seen these guys mentioned here - though with the number of British blues fans around I could be wrong.

Regardless this was a great blues/rock band that deserves some love - you should check them out if you are unfamiliar with them.

I guess their claim to fame was the membership of Christine Perfect (later Christine McVie in Fleetwood Mac) but they were a solid

band with some great tunes and playing...

I saw them perform at the Reading Festival around 1968.

I remember Cream had just broken up so can't be certain of the year but Clapton made an appearance jamming with Ginger Baker. Jethro Tull also made a major breakthrough at that Festival.

Some very good bands at that Festival- Ten Years After and Deep Purple, Keith Emerson played "America". Good times.

I remember Chicken Shack much as I do the Climax Blues Band - very good but never quite making it. As far as I know Chicken Shack are still doing the rounds.

I had never heard of these guys either. Pretty good though.

I thought at first you were talking about Jimmy's Chicken Shack, who was a local band that had some moderate success in the 1990s :-k
