Best Roller Bridge For a Bigsby On A lp

I've got the eBay special $15 Sung Il brand on my Angus, my Historic and my Epi's with Maestros (as well as on a buddy's LP) and they work splendidly. No need to be spending $40 or more on a different kind, they work just fine and don't detract from the stock appearance like some of them do.

These are identical to the types I use:

If yours is large post model, you'll need this one: Large Post roller bridge

If it's a small post ABR style, use this one: Small Post roller bridge

From time to time it's a good idea to blow 'em out with some canned air and spray a little lube down in there to keep everything slick and freewheeling. It's so much better, and you'll get a little more play outta' the Bigsby with roller saddles.

I added one of those in my Casino which has a bigsby and it works well. Changing the stock nut is next.

Some of the saddles that hold the roller move a little bit which I do not like but it is a great improvement to the performance of the guitar.

If your LP has the screw-slot-top posts, you'll need the larger diameter ones for sure, but if it's a Nashville I'm not sure what the compatibility is with the ABR-styled one (I'd write the seller and ask if I were you)...seems like a buddy of mine put one of the large-bushing ones on his Gibson with a stock Nashville T.O.M. and he just swapped out the posts with the ones that came with the bridge and it was simple as that. I'd ask the seller though.

I dunno if the Bigsby-supplied one would space properly. Again a situation where it might be worth it to ask them if it'd fit onto your existing hardware without modification. I've never installed one of them so I just don't have any clue about it.

hbomb' date=' trusty fella, what about my 61 Historic? Just go with the small post with no pain?[/quote']

Yup, you'll be a happy camper with that one!

PS...if you have a little space in the holes (the stock ABR posts may be a tad bit thinner than the ones that come with the roller-bridge) you can either just swap 'em out and save the originals, or you can take a tiny sliver of electrical tape and wrap the post to make it tighter. Other than that you're good to go, and for less than $20. :)
