I really enjoyed performing this song! It was a 2-hour long tribute set featuring the top 25 hits from the '80s.

I heard a radio interview with Bryan just after this song was a huge FM radio hit. The DJ asked him "so what's the deal with this song Summer of 69, you would have been about 10 years old in 1969."

 

His response was "I never said it was the YEAR 69!"

 

Now that gives a whole new meaning to the song!
