MichaelDH Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Just saw on Sweetwater's site they have several Epi guitars that are Plek'd. I didn't realize Epi's were Plek'd. Something I missed, something new, or something Sweetwater is doing themselves? http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ENTPMSNH-PLK
Jeffery Smith Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I had read last year that Sweetwater had a Plek machine. Someone had bought an Ibanez from them that was really badly set up, and Sweetwater pleked it for him free of change. I asked my Sweetwater guy if they were doing any Pleking for customers, and he told me that they weren't (yet).
Steve112 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Interesting, with all the quality parts along with pleking the Tribute Plus seems a bargain, nice guitar!
Jeffery Smith Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 The fellow at Sweetwater said that the machine had to be programed for a particular guitar model. Looks like they programmed their machine for an LP.
MichaelDH Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 I'm planning on going there Monday. Maybe I can find out more about it.
Jeffery Smith Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I'm planning on going there Monday. Maybe I can find out more about it. I have only one Pleked guitar, a Heritage Les Paul model. It plays like a dream. Highly recommended!

MichaelDH Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 One of the sales guys told me that they do have a Plek machine, and that Sweetwater and Gibson have the only two of them in the country. He didn't know if they could run any type of guitar in them, or just certain models.
Jeffery Smith Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 A quick internet search tells me that Heritage stopped PLEKing their guitars in mid-2007.
