bayoubengal1954 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I have been wanting an all hog small body guitar, but I wasn't quite hearing in the models I have tried the richness of tone that I wanted. Then I found out about a few Deep Body (4 5/8" in body depth) models made by Martin (Woman and Music Series) and those seemed right up my alley, but they have been hard to find. I also became familiar with the Tweedy 00-DB model and loved the burst and sound quality that I had heard in demos. Well, I just received this Tweedy today and couldn't be happier! Looks great and the tone is perfect for me!
duluthdan Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 BB54 is that the Tweedy Model ? Curious about these for quite awhile - that body depth really adds something to the tone I'll bet. The handful of all mahogany guitars I have tried in the past all seemed sort of 'meek', but they never had even close to that body depth. Never found a Tweedy, but I'll keep my eyes open. Nice NGD - congrats.

Backdoor Man Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 That is one sweet axe. I had to settle for an Epiphone myself brother, that's all I could afford!
Rambler Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Nice little boxes. Suprisingly good for chuggin' out chords. Nice neck profile.

Smurfbird Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Congrats! I've always loved mahogany guitars. Definite warmth and a familiar comfortable sound to those of us who long played them. The deep box is an interesting touch. Enjoy inhaling the guitar and playing her -- even if she's technically a him. Or maybe Jeff Tweedy calls it his girl.
Jesse_Dylan Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Yep, Martin needs to do more with the deep body stuff--00s and 000s and OMs. There is a Tweedy here locally, amazingly, but I have avoided playing it. Don't want anymore guitars!
BluesKing777 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Looks great! I love my all mahogany guitars and while not all that loud, playing my 44 Martin 0-17 last night real late while everyone else was snoring was just sublime! Vintage smokey dark chocolate covered wholemeal wholegrain cake....... To get that top on the new guitar humming, you may need to either play it real hard a lot or get the Tonerite on it - it worked great on my 000-15. Plus Elixir PB Nano 12s! BluesKing777.

MissouriPicker Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Excellent choice. I love the look of that mahogany. Congrats!
