I have lived in Colorado for 8 years, and had never even heard about this place until 5 minutes ago. Well, I guess i have my weekend planned !

Wait a second... "Gibson Lake Trail is a 4.8 mile out and back trail located near Jefferson, Colorado that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from June until October." Not even on my best day. Maybe I can sneak my J-45 in strapped to my scooter. Oh well, will just have to drive into the mountains again.

Pretty cool, Dan. John Denver got a lot of inspiration from those mountains. I'd have to know if it was "bear country" before I got out of my car...lol.....All joking aside, I'd love to hear how a sweet guitar sounds up there. Beautiful country.

Great photo, though take your beater guitar in case you have to use it to fight off creatures! Shame to throw that J45 at a bear then run for it!

I was watching some sport the other day and one team had a guy called Gibson and the other team had a guy called Martin and I was hoping for a skirmish, but they stayed down the other end from each other.....

Just returned from Colorado yesterday, great time with an old friend we caught a show at Red Rocks but spent most of the time at Grand Lake...very inspirational...That is the third time I have vacationed in Colorado and I still want to go back...

How about the Bobcats? I've heard they will go after anything if hungry enough - that and the Grisley would have me quite nervous....but its very beautiful that is true.

Beautiful...

Yep, gotta say, I think maybe you did find the best place. If it's not that one, it's something similar to that.

Black bears don't attack people very often. I was all paranoid about them when I was in Yellowstone, but they're mostly happy little things as long as you don't threaten them (and as long as they don't have cubs). They usually stay far away from humans (which is a good idea in Yellowstone, where the humans are the biggest threat).

Cougars and bobcats don't like the taste of people, or our smell. :)

And if you were playing guitar, they'd all hear you a mile away and go the opposite direction, especially if you were playing one of my tunes!
