In 2007, Gibson Memphis introduced the ES-339 with all the class and confidence of the classic ES-335, only a slightly smaller body. Now, with the success of the ES-339 comes the next evolution, the ES-349. Capturing the preferred features of the Historic ES-345, the 2015 ES-349 is a Walnut-finished beauty with gold hardware, Kluson Double Ring tuners, rolled neck binding, and MHS Humbuckers for maximum tone. Only 50 will be made in this Limited Run, so get yours before they are all gone. (YOU HEARD EM.... RUN!! [rolleyes] )

In August 2011, Federal Agents raided Gibson Guitar and confiscated fingerboards, necks, and even entire guitars. After months of negotiations we received our necks and bodies back. We have used these blanks to create a new series of guitars to remind us that we are "Endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." These rights are exactly what Gibson Guitar has been founded on and we will continue to provide happiness to all of our fans regardless of what it takes to defend these rights. This remarkable instrument is Gunmetal Grey, with Dirty Fingers pickups and Nickel Hardware. Emblazoned on the pickguard is a gold "American Made" emblem, and every one of these 300 Special Run guitars comes with a unique Certificate of Authenticity

$2,899

I believe I would even stay with the reflector knobs on this one, and that means a lot. Perhaps witch hat knobs would match her, too, but I would never put speed knobs on her... [rolleyes]

Not too keen on the 335 but the 349 is pretty damn tasty.

Only 50 worldwide? Boo!

One oddity is the use of nylon saddles...........................

I know many of the Norlin-era bridges were so equipped so there is some sort of 'historical accuracy' there but it's still a rather strange feature.

Hardly a deal-breaker, though. I'd still have one, thank you.

that's cool.....what would be really cool is to have the whole government series set....Les Paul,Explorer,Flying V and now the ES 335...

Same here; not keen on the 335, or any previous government models; I don't find the finishes very good looking.

The 349 is nice, although it would have been even better if they'd followed the true 345 way, and added a Varitone; none of the smaller-sized ES guitars have one.

Yeah! That's what they say in D Block. [laugh]

Geez...and me with no money to spend...Oh Well!

Beauties!

This Saturday past friends were over. We share the same conservative political views, including keeping as much government out of governing as possible.

He is not a guitar player, but loves guitar music. I was showing him my LP and he asked some questions about Gibson. Among several things, I told him all about the confiscation of woods at Gibson and their subsequent return. He gets a BIG GRIN on and says "YEAH! That's how to do it!" He was just tickled with the whole idea about making limited runs with the confiscated / returned wood!~ [thumbup]

My head hurts just thinking of who they are aiming this drivel at. Gibson, you sacrifice future business by wearing the wrong cloak.

These rights are exactly what Gibson Guitar has been founded on...

No company has ever been founded on any "rights". This company was founded by a somewhat nutty guy working in his garage with not one single other prospect in life, so quiet desperation was probably a large part of the foundation of this company. As far as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happines, I sincerely doubt that once those guys made up this Gibson company and IMMEDIATELY started making sure Mr. Gibson got absolute minimum in compensation and ensured he would die 15 years later basically a looney pauper that his life, liberty and pursuit of happiness were defended at all.

Really you guys, why aim so friggin low?

In the respect that we (still) enjoy "free market" and live in a country where we are free to create and follow an idea through to fruition (make money; a profit), what they are writing is true. The manner in which they put it-directly tying it to the Preamble of the US Constitution- was a little....can't think of the word...

Hello Rabs!

Thank You! :(

That hurts right to the bone...

Lovely! It is simply perfect!

Ahhh....Bence

:) well if im gonna suffer you can all suffer with me ;)

I still think this is where Gibson is missing a trick... I think that if they offered LPs and other guitars in varying woods that it would be way more interesting to people than trying to fix things that arnt broken... Just pure simple Gibsons in beautiful woods and theres so so many they can choose from.. that walnut guitar is a great example of that...

Oak... they need to make some oak guitars...

Rabs, you don't have to sell anything [-X You are "Rabswood", you can make one [thumbup]. LP style, Good & Evil style {half & half} ES style, what ever you want. You're good.

Lol... cheers and yes I was just kidding really... I was just exaggerating how nice I think it looked...

And also I was thinking about the irony of me still loving my Gibsons... Say I do go in to business.. It means I will probably have to make and sell like four guitars to buy a Gibson [rolleyes] [rolleyes] that just seems silly...

Ok when I start things rolling and can buy some really really nice wood stock, I will do a walnut RabsWood.. :) (id still love to see a walnut Gibson LP though)
