That time I was eighteen, my last year at grammar school had just begun, and Elvis Presley had died just a month before. In retrospective, the news of Marc's death was a sign that the easy times in my life were over. :(

I felt the same way, as a high school freshman, when John Lennon was shot and killed. It definitely felt like a certain, innocent time in life was over.

I must confess, I never really knew the circumstances surrounding Bolan's death. I always thought it was some kind of O.D. or an illness.

He was killed in a car crash - he was afraid of driving so he had his girlfriend drive.

Neither one of them were mechanically astute enough to check the tire pressure so the car crashed going around a corner due to low air pressure in the tires.

My first was Beard of Stars here on Blue Thumb Records in the US which sent me on a hunt to find the early previous three as imports. I still listen to those as well as the T. Rex albums T.Rex, Electric Warrior, The Slider and Tanx a lot. The guy still blows me away. I mean seriously blows me away.
