IanHenry Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I find this interesting. I've been fascinated by the fact that since I first set eyes on a solid state amp back in about 1977 (my friends H&H head, very disappointing) they still haven't managed compete with valve (or tube) amps. I do have a Yamaha THR 10 which is a great little practice amp and actually can still hold it's own when jamming with other people (depending, of course on what they are using)it's limiting factor being the tiny 3" speakers. It seems Yamaha have now decided to do a 100 watt model. Are the days of tube amps finally numbered? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jeJ3FG17lo&list=PLx_o-uAr_uh4Wu91dDCxX-QgsZ8aFk34r Ian

btoth76 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Hello! It sounds really good. It's obviously, needs much less care (if none) than a real tube-amp. But, - alone without a cabinet -, it costs as much as a good all-tube combo. Bence.
kidblast Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 after looking at a few demos, this is quite an impressive head. I have a few fender mustangs which are quite impressive in their own right.
kidblast Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 upon further review....... from Sweetwater... the head $799 and the 2x12 cab $499 the 1x12 cab $299 so,, the head and a 2x12 cab,, you're dancing around $1,300 + (w/tax etc.)
