daveinspain Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 If you could only use one pedal for a gig, what would it be?
SteveT2 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 If you could only use one pedal for a gig, what would it be? If it's just the pedals I own I'd say Mad Professor Golden Cello
sparquelito Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Since my Fender 212R already has a great clean channel/boost-distortion channel offering via the factory pedal that comes with the amp, I would have to say that the MXR M222 Talk Box would be the one single pedal that I would need to add. It's a recent acquisition, and it takes some serious work getting used to it (and using it on Joe Walsh and Weezer songs, etc), but once you get on the far side of the learning curve, it's a pedal you would never want to be without. My next challenge; learning the required Peter Frampton songs.
Searcy Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 If I could only have one it would be this.
deeman Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 TU-2 I would have to agree. Ain't a groove if ya'll guitar ain't tuned
HEADKNOCKER Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Cry Baby Wha or Electro-Harmonix Muff Fuzz Peavey Sanpera I or II
daveinspain Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 Remember, it's one pedal. You have to make the decision... I'd have to go with the Golden Celo also. My amp has reverb built in so the Golden Celo covers me for delay and overdrive...
RobertAndersson Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 For some time now, I have been playing with pure tube amp sound, only the reverb that is built in. When I use effects, it is this one: //Robert
Rabs Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Assuming I have distortion and reverb on my amp (which I always do).... Cry baby... If im not allowed that... then itd have to be a distortion pedal of some kind.
jdgm Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Has to be overdrive/dist unless you count that in the amp in which case...Ibanez SCF10 chorus/flanger preferred as it also has slapback....
Autumn Light&Shade Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 I use my Xotic EP Booster all the time. kind regards, Emma :)
Silvercrow Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Hey! An easy one for a change! I DO only use one pedal...95% of the time. It's "on" 100% of the time. JRockett Archer. Brian
Jon S. Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Aside from a tuner pedal, it'd have to be a RC Booster.
cookieman15061 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 At this moment it's my flashback delay pedal.
pippy Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I don't use any pedals when I play through the MM 2x12; it already has a nice reverb feature and the amp itself sounds great either clean or dirty. Although I also don't use anything when I play through my silly little practice amp, either, I'd quite enjoy the option of a bit of reverb. Occasionally I think about swapping-out the toy amp's in-built gain/distortion circuitry with the innards from such a foot-pedal but as yet I've been far too lazy to do anything about it. I think it would work quite well; Simply () swap the 'Gain' on/off button's bits for the wiring from the reverb on/off and swap the distort pot for the stuff from the reverb's depth control. I'd also like to wire-up the spaghetti so that the AC feed would negate the need for batteries. Alternatively I could save time and money by just buying a practice amp which already has such a feature......... Pip.

I got a little tweed Gretch amp, the same one as the Champ (it's newer..they go for like 200 bucks). I got an Electro Harmonix reverb pedal that sounds surprisingly good, and it's a lot of fun to use them together. Then I got a few cheaper tube screamers, and one with a turbo switch or something. That's kinda fun. Then I mess with my Keely compresser. Then after all that, I usually get my National amp out (same thing, except it's the REAL deal, and actual Champ) and crank that for the creamy distortion, even though the amp sounds sick cause it needs caps). Forgot what I was going to say. Ah, I can relate to the mess about the house, but reverb pedals even though they shouldn't sound good, maybe some do, and it's kinda fun.
Guest Farnsbarns Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 A long, thin rubbery one. I belive it's called a 'cable'. I own a few pedals, delay, fuzz and wah but I rarely use them. Must put a power socket on that wah actually, then I'd use it I think.
