Hi

I am trying to wire my 2013 LP standard bridge and neck from the split coils setup to a standard coil set up and have come across a problem:

On my Bridge pick up I get a ohms reading between the Green and Black wires of 4k Ohms and between the white and red 4k17 but no matter what combination of wires can I get 8K,

all I get is 2k ( red& black to white& green 2k) red & green to white & black 2k

on the back of the pick up is a sticker that says "Lead Pro" and 860-31667-L

PS: the pickups came with the quick fit connectors ( I have cut them off so to have flying leads , this is when I discovered the 4k problem.

Can anyone help

If you read the Green and Black wires it should read around 4K. This is the South pole coil.

If you read the White and Red wires it should also read about 4K. This is the North pole coil.

If these two readings are around 4K your coils are reading good.

Now solder the White and Green wire together and read across the Black and Red wires.

It should read around 8K. If it does then use the Red wire as your output and wire the Black wire to ground along with the bare shield wire.

You Sir are a Life Saver, I am now in position of an 8k Pickup, Thank you, also thank you for the Diagram.

Post Script: I have already put in a pair of Bare Knuckle PG Vintage, but like many I need to feed the little voice in the back of my mind "What if I use a Bare Knuckle with a Gibson?" if I don't try it will bug me no end.

Again Many thanks
