Shaker
This question is not limited to SGs but I play SGs often, so here it is. Some people experiment with different size tone capacitors (I suppose different brands, too). Why don't people simply put in trim capacitors (e.g 5. to 80 pF) instead of fixed size capacitors? With trim capacitors, you can adjust your tone more finely without de/soldering. Thanks.
Shaker
Sorry, folks. I think I just figured out the answer. Trim capacitors do not come in the size we need - 20 to 50 nF. Apologies for taking up the space.
cvansickle
Try the Stellartone ToneStyler. I have four guitars with one installed and love it.
