ballcorner
"Boiled" linseed oil. Good tip - I will raid my oil painting kit later this evening and give it a go!
Guth
A side note: the boiled linseed oil does not smell too lovely, but after about a week, the odor pretty much disappears (at least in my experience). All the best, Guth
Taylor Player
Also.. Boiled linseed oil is very flammable so I wouldn't recommend having the old "Heater" while cleaning the fretboard. Interestinly enough a buddy of mine who is really into hunting tells me that he uses Boiled Linseed oil on his gun stocks too. Remember.... a very small amount is all that is needed. Wipe it on, let it sit for a few minutes (good time for the smoke somewhere far away from your music room...) and then wipe it off. I don't notice any bad smell after using it but who knows if my sense of smell is right or not...
