Mick Amon
I just picked up a black '95 S300 strat because it's identical to my first guitar except for the white face plate, pickups, knobs, and back plate. Are these a standard size and shape so that a normal Fender kit could be used to make them black like my old one or will I have to search for Epi hardware? Any/all help would be appreciated! Johnny 6 String
I just picked up a black '95 S300 strat because it's identical to my first guitar except for the white face plate, pickups, knobs, and back plate. All that stuff is pretty standard sized (knobs, pick ups etc), regarding the pick guard you may have to trim a bit here and there are round the neck pocket to get a good fit and you may have to drill new holes for mounting as the old ones in the body may or may not line up. All in all pretty simple and fun mods. Good luck! Post some before and after pics, we're crazy for guitar porn around here. Johnny
Mick Amon
Has anyone here ever successfully painted a plastic pickguard? I'm thinking maybe scuff it a bit, prime it, give it a couple of light coats, and then blast it with a wee bit of clear coat. Any thoughts/tips/suggestions? P.S. - As for guitar porn, I have what I think is a pretty sweet shake-can idea for this one, including some hand striping and graphics, so I will definitely be posting pics from before and after. I just hope it turns out as good as it looks in my noggin right now!
