Need Help Serial Number Doesn't Register

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm selling a '71 Es-345TD and I've been offered a '92 Les Paul Classic with $1400 on top. The problem is the serial number hes given me wont pull up on guitar dater. I would like to know if it's a real Gibson or a far eastern knock off. Serial number is 2 4300. I read that the classic will have 5-6 digits with the first digit being the year and the last 4-5 being the production number. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! :)

p.s. From what I can tell, the fret board has the nubs at the ends of the frets like a typical Gibson.

You can not, ever, authenticate a Gibson by serial#.

Serial#'s are often duplicated and used by those who make copies. Not to mention, that often, those serial# "dater" sites get it wrong or can't make sense of the number.

I you want to use the people on this site to help authenticate a Gibson for you, we can, but you have to post pics.
