J-45 Standard W/ Adirondack Top?

Hey Guys,

I just purchased a 2016 Gibson J-45 Standard and I believe it has an adirondack top. I have two questions. J-45 Standards are only made with sitka spruce tops, correct? Does this look like an adirondack top or am I crazy?

The grain seems wider and different than hummingbirds top, no clue why, even though both are Sitka. Thought it was about grade, but on 2016 models both are AA.

It's wood. Every piece is different. Just look at the difference in the grain of various pieces of rosewood and mahogany used for backs.

You can go online to various tonewood suppliers and look at the variation in wood grain in raw top and back sets for pieces of wood of the same species.
