MrNylon Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Fender Bassman 500 / Ampeg SVT-212AV. A great bass setup.
MrNylon Posted March 27, 2016 Author Posted March 27, 2016 The Bassman 500 runs great through Ampeg. The 2X12 setup has a better low end, and is a 4 ohm, 600 watt cab.
MrNylon Posted November 11, 2017 Author Posted November 11, 2017 I thought this setup sounded good before, but now with playing my SG Std. through it, it really has a sound that doesn't quit.
MrNylon Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 The SG Std. did ok with a Fender Bassman 500, but not as good as with the Ampeg V-4B. It's tough to beat a tube bass head.
MrNylon Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 I know what your saying. In 49 Years of playing the bass, this is my first Ampeg tube head I've ever had. I've had a Traynor head in 1969-1970. A couple of Fender Bassman heads along the way. But this V-4B Ampeg kicks the rest for overall tone quality. A good friend of mine in about 1970, had an Acoustic 360/361. That was a Monster on stage, or in the studio. How are you using your Acoustic B100 ?
JayinLA Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Been playin more bass lately. Want to get a real amp. I think I am going for a Bassman or Bassman clone.
tx-ogre Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 That Ampeg looks sweet. I would like to get an Ampeg tube head someday. Right now I have an Ampeg PF-800 head and a PF-115HE cab that I've been happy with. I can only imagine how much better that tube head sounds.

The Ampeg tube heads are for real old school 60's Hard, and Heavy, ROCK & ROLL!
MrNylon Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Been playin more bass lately. Want to get a real amp. I think I am going for a Bassman or Bassman clone. That's of course your call, but I've had them, and dropped them for the Ampeg Tube Head.
tx-ogre Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 The Ampeg tube heads are for real old school 60's Hard, and Heavy, ROCK & ROLL! Sounds like the perfect match for me. :P
MrNylon Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Sounds like the perfect match for me. :P It really is a monster of a head for 100 watts. The tube head has more power output than a 100 watt SS.
MrNylon Posted December 28, 2017 Author Posted December 28, 2017 The SG Std. with the Ampeg half stack. This Ampeg has the sound I've been looking for to match up with the SG Std. The Ampeg V-4B / SVT-212AV.
Ceptorman Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 The SG Std. with the Ampeg half stack. This Ampeg has the sound I've been looking for to match up with the SG Std. The Ampeg V-4B / SVT-212AV. Beautiful pic.
MrNylon Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 Beautiful pic. Thank you. I get lucky sometimes. And no one in the pic closed their eyes.
MrNylon Posted January 7, 2018 Author Posted January 7, 2018 I'm still in awe with the sounds of the SG Std., and the Ampeg half stack. Is anyone else using an Ampeg with a Gibson bass?
MrNylon Posted January 11, 2018 Author Posted January 11, 2018 ITS FLOATING!!!!!!!!!!! [scared] Fender Basses can do that. Nice looking Jazz.
