Jayyj Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I have a quick question for any Japanese Epi experts on the forum: I have a Casino that for some reason I always thought was a Fujigen built guitar but this week I couldn't remember the year it was made so ran a check on the serial no and I can't find any reference to a Fujigen semi (well, except for a very old post on here by myself!). The guitar I have matches the Epiphone Wiki site's description of a Tereda made guitar predating the Elite/Elitist, so three piece Maple neck with 'Made in Japan' decal under the lacquer and a 17th fret body join. The serial number doesn't exactly match the format given on the Wiki page but it's a five digit code (no letters) starting with a 6, so I guess it's a '96. Am I right in thinking it's a Tereda build or has anyone come across a Fujigen built semi? I'm guessing most of these were built for the Japanese market as I only ever see Elitists or the earlier Matsumoko versions in the UK, and even they're not common. This one came from Ishibashi in Japan - I saw it on Ebay and fell in love.
Dennis G Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Can't really help with the original question, but will say that my 2010 Terada made Elitist Casino is just one great guitar:
