Hawkesman Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 UFO. Hard to disagree with that one, IMO. 'Strangers' is just brilliant!
'Scales Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Tim: Ok, do you know his favourite band of all time? Could have had anyone. Fifty years of popular music. It's Mike and the Mechanics..

Dub-T-123 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I think it's Pavement, but hard to pick one favorite This is my 6,789th post
Dennis G Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Too hard to choose over 70 years I'm afraid. I'd have to agree, but then again there's Beatles, Stones, CSNY, CC&R, INXS, Wilbuty's, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, oh wait, I think I just agreed and made my point
StRanger7032 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I think for me it would be a tie between Jethro Tull and Rush, with The Band and Steely Dan in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
rocketman Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Depends on the style for me. Classic Rock: The Who Progressive Rock: Do I even need to say??? Blues: SRV and Double Trouble Jazz: Joe Pass and George Gershwin Rockabilly: Elvis Presley and Brian Setzer Country: playing wise it would Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, and Roy Clark, but I listen to Johnny Cash the most Disco: The Bee Gees (yep, I am huge fan of them, live with it) Old: The Four Seasons Classical: Mozart Overall: The Beatles
cody78 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 That's an impossible question as I really don't have one, but I guess the group I have listened to the most over the years is Neil Young with Crazy Horse. 'Zuma' would be in my top 10 albums.
4Hayden Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 The Florida Guitar Army: rct Few people will know who that is brother 4H
4Hayden Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 I think it's Pavement, but hard to pick one favorite This is my 6,789th post Congrats
4Hayden Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 All jokes a side mine would be Traveling Wilburys ~ The Band in a tie 4H
merciful-evans Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Los Lobos Until 1995, it was The Grateful Dead. That's when they quit (my favourite band is always current).
IanHenry Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Tim: Ok, do you know his favourite band of all time? Could have had anyone. Fifty years of popular music. It's Mike and the Mechanics.. Although I never was a big fan of Mike and the Mechanics, I thought one of their vocalists, the late Paul Young (not to be confused with the "Wherever I Throw My Hat" Paul Young) was brilliant, especially his work with the band Sad Café. Free have to be up there with the best but there have to be so many, from different eras and different genres' of music. Ian

Ian I was hoping one of you British gents might actually be familiar with that obscure quote Ian. I think of it when this question comes up. ..anyhow, seriously, I agree with your point re it being too difficult - I would change virtually on a daily basis. I also would rate Free as one of my 'go to' bands when nothing else jumps out at me to listen to, so maybe they are it!
Searcy Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Oh it's been too many times, and I can't go back Night bars, guitars, rundown motels like shacks What it mounts up to, I don't want it at all Lost you, and I want you today
sellen Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 These 3 bands will be with me to the end AC-DC Thin Lizzy ZZ-Top I do fancy blues So much to choose, but i bought a lot of jimi and Gary Moore When i want it hard it tend to be Metallica, but recently Motorhead in respect of Lemmy Newer stuff i really like Rival Sons I use Spotify and play a lot of stuff Yea but the topic was "Your Favorite" Got to be AC-DC
saturn Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 If I were forced to pick only one, right now it would have to be The Beatles. At various times in my life I might have said Beach Boys, KISS, Van Halen and for about 20 years I would have easily said Led Zeppelin. Edit: If I go by bands that came out in the last 25 years I would say Foo Fighters
rct Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Few people will know who that is brother 4H k. The Outlaws: Green Grass And High Tides, There Goes Another Love Song, Ghost Riders In The Sky, Hurry Sundown. That's some hits I guess!
