I bought a set of Grover Rotomatic 3+3 to upgrade the sad excuse for tuners they had on my Special I P90's (the only problem) and the holes in the headstock aren't big enough for the Grovers to pass through. I'm sure this is pretty trivial, but maybe it'll come in as handy info for a few people that got them for Christmas while they were on sale. I just talked to my favorite luthier Steve at GC in Tulsa, and it's going to be about $50 to retap and mount these bad boys. I'm still looking into whether there is a viable replacement with the stock hole size.

yeah, just about any replacement tuner you get with a screw in bushing is going to be too big for the hole on a guitar that has the press in bushings.

I picked up a used wine red LP Special for £80 to use as a busking guitar last year. It's the only guitar I own that has trouble tuning as the tuners are shockingly bad. I need to replace mine at some point too. The guitar other thn that is fantastic for the price I paid.
