It's been a long time...........

Recommended Posts

Since I've posted anything, even longer since I bought a guitar and longer yet since I had an Epiphone.

But today's a HNGD, just got a Gary Clark Jr Casino.

Always wanted a Casino and I love this one.

Time to get playing...........

Welcome back. Always good to see a familiar face. Still think the Casino is the best guitar Epiphone ever made. Hope you enjoy yours.

HNGD, sledge57. The GC Jr. Casino is a gorgeous guitar and those Gibson P90s are the icing on the cake! How is the tuning stability with the Bigsby? I know that when carefully configured, it should be no hassle, just wondering. Congrats on a beautiful Epi. [thumbup]

Thanks everyone, it's a lot nicer than the pic shows and it the best playing Epi I've owned, except the Bigsby.

Going to have to spend some rime sorting it out, seems very stiff and effects the tuning a bit.

Still love the guitar though.

Go to the Reverend Guitars site and search for soft touch sprint in the parts page. That will solve the stiffness. Tuning can be improved with nut lube. Big Bends Nut Sauce works great. There is even a youtube video that explains how to use it on bigsby equipped guitars.

Congrats on the casino. Looks nice!

Doug

let us know how that works.

I replaced the spring in in my Country Gent with one of these. Made quite a difference for me. I plan to replace all of them eventually. (I have three other bigsby loaded gutiars)

Looking good on that new guitar! Saw one of these at my local the other week; they do seem great but I didn't pick it up. Congratulations!

And yes...GAS flare-up...

Welcome back and congrats on a great guitar. I have an Elitist Casino that I added a Bigsby to. I have no tuning issues (and have a few other guitars with Bigbsy's as well, with no issues) but then again, I don't "dive bomb", only use it for subtle effects. YMMV, but congrats on a great guitar.

I would prefer the Trapeze tailpiece to the Bigsby, I rarely if ever use it and have taken the bar off my 2 strats, but I thought I'd give it a go and didn't like it.

It was very stiff, creaky and wouldn't stay in tune, so I ordered the BricksBiggsfix roller and a soft spring from Reverend Guitars. Bricks sells one too but I already had the spring from Reverend before I was able to order the roller.

The results so far are mixed, the roller is a definite upgrade, guitar stays in tune now when using the Bigsby, the spring however is a total "No Go" it's about 1/4" longer than the original, totally unusable on the Casino.

So It's still stiff and creaky (I did lube it, no help) but stays in tune and I still wish I had the Trapeze tailpiece. I could buy one but the holes in the top of the guitar for the Bigsby would just piss me off looking at them....
