btoth76 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Hello All! Today, it's Joan Baez's birthday. While reading it in the news, I was thinking what do I like about Her. Because, I do like Her very much. Her views on politics is quite far from mine. The genre of music She represents is not my favorite either. Still, I respect Her for always making a stand for what She feels right. I respect Her for being consequent. I love the sensitivity in Her lovely voice. May God bless the soulful lady with good health and happiness. Best wishes... Bence
capmaster Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Happy Birthday, Joan, best wishes from here, including the power and health to hang on! ... Her views on politics is quite far from mine. ... Seriously? What exactly are you talking about?
capmaster Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Forgot to mention that Joan is exactly 28 years my ex-wife's senior.
btoth76 Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Hello Capmaster! I am usually quite open about my thoughts on world affairs, but not here. At least, not anymore. I want this place to remain nice and friendly. I use other channels for that. So please, don't get a grip on that sentence. This thread is not about me. It's about Joan Baez. Best regards... Bence
capmaster Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Without mentioning any particular of Joan's activities, to my senses she is an exceptional moral authority. The very problem I think is that any prime minister, president or economic executive sharing her convictions would be killed in any "free" country. I have to say that since I'm living in a "free" country.
btoth76 Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 I agree with Your first sentence, as I wrote in my first post. Respect is not a question of whether we agree on everything or disagree entirely. Respect is the matter of personal moral qualities. And I do respect consequent people, and politicians are definitely not among them. I haven't seen any yet. It doesn't really matters what they say, I judge them about the consequences. Best wishes... Bence
fromnabulax Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Joan Baez is absolutely one of the important folks who informed my musical tastes and direction from a very early age. Joan Baez is my hero, but her sister was a better guitar player! Happy birthday Joanie, and I still miss you Mimi!
charlie brown Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Happy Birthday, Joan! And, thanks for your music! CB
4Hayden Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I would hit that. Still. rct Back when she was younger if you wouldn't hit you might play for the other team, I'd hit it but I go first 4H
charlie brown Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Yes, she IS "muy bonita!" Always has been. CB
