Rabs Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Hey guys.. ive been going through all the NAMM videos and thought you guys would like this and this I thought was a really interesting idea.. Humidity sensors? :)
EuroAussie Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 That new battery compartment with the sensors connecting to an app letting you know guitar humidity, temperature and battery life is a real winner .... those clever new age Taylor boys. Gibson, are you watching .. ??
slimt Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Thanks for sharing... Taylor has something there..
Mickthemiller Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 So, nothing new there then!!! But it is nice to know that Gibson like to listen to users and please them. And here's me thinking it's all about profit!!!
BluesKing777 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 and this I thought was a really interesting idea.. Humidity sensors? :) Not a bad idea, but a read out for critical info would be good on the guitar or case somewhere, instead of having to get the silly apps. And what if your guitar is 'pure acoustic only'? I have a number of humidity gadgets and after calibrating with the famous 'salt test', I found they vary by 25%. Truly useless. Is this an electronic useless or an accurate measure? Etc... BluesKing777.
slimt Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Dig deeper and see the Progressive J45.. auto tune robotic tuners? and a ABR style bridge.. Eeewwwww..
58 Relic Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Just thinking on the theme , you then could have a bridge and bridge pins with sensors that are linked to the same app that gives you a read out for intonation and it also could tell you when the strings need replacing . On second thoughts how about just having that lovely Hummingbird or J45 reviewed in the latest Guitarist Mag .
Pesh Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Brilliant bit of kit; quite a good idea to have something like this available, especially the impact sensor. Hopefully it means those unreliable airlines are not going to be as able to spin stories to get out of paying for damages...
Mickthemiller Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 There seem to be no new acoustic guitar models coming out of Gibson or Epiphone this NAMM. Is the summer show going to bring us lots of new goodies to GAS over?
JuanCarlosVejar Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 There seem to be no new acoustic guitar models coming out of Gibson or Epiphone this NAMM. Is the summer show going to bring us lots of new goodies to GAS over? Well no , They have the monthly specials and the website is updated with the 2016 line up. JC
58 Relic Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 There's that Hummingbird again !!! GAS pills please
