surfpup Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 I have a feeling there will be lots of votes for Dark Side of the Moon and maybe The Wall, but I'm going with Animals... man I love that record!
Rabs Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Impossible... I like them all for different reasons.. I also LOVE Animals.. Its just perfect... I even like Piper with the silliness such as the Gnome song :) And Wish you Were Here for the melodicness of it all... Of course Dark Side is classic... But one album I also REALLY like is The Final Cut.. While I know its lyrically quite depressing (and more of a Rodger Waters featuring Floyd album) it has some of my favourite guitar and sax work on it.. Musically I just think its amazing. The sax solo in this is so good.. And this has a classic Gilmour solo all the way
SteveT2 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I have a feeling there will be lots of votes for Dark Side of the Moon and maybe The Wall, but I'm going with Animals... man I love that record! This one is way underappreciated
surfpup Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 I do have a soft spot for Meddle Meddle.... Ooooo... that's a good one. Likely my second favorite. Echoes is epic!
JayinLA Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Man....Pink Floyd is one of those bands that I would actually say the live albums are the best, because they have all the good stuff. Dark Side, Animals, Wish You Were Here all killer. But The Wall is the one record that can be listened to from beginning to end and really have that almost rock opera, Broadway Vibe. I would have to vote for The Wall.
quapman Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Can you pick one? Probably not. Aside from Dark Side being the undisputed champion I second the nod for Animals. I have always loved the entire album. I have watched The Wall so many times under every know influence I have lost count. And I haven't seen it for probably over 20 years. But as classic as that album may be I have just heard it way too much. I'm kinda tired of it. Animals just never gets old.

Yeah when I was about 18 I sat and listened to that whole album in the Pink Floyd coffee shop in Amsterdam.. Man those were fun times :)
cookieman15061 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Although Darkside in prolly there most cohesive record my fave is also Animals.
Retired Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 My favorite band. I too love all their songs. My wife doesn't care for Pink Floyd and only has the Wall album and one other. So my favorite is the double CD P.U.L.S.E. It has 24 songs and all are my favorites.
'Scales Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Can you pick one? A fiendishly deviant question 'pup! Quite impossible. Wish You Were Here, Meddle (side 2), Saucerful would all be up there... so could several others depending on the day and the mood. but, no. It can't be done. I really like both of Syd's solo albums.
saturn Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 It's too hard to pick one album, judging just by the music and songs. But for nostalgia reasons, I have to say The Wall.
RowdyMoon Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Tough call.......I would have to flip a coin between Relics and Meddle......altho Umma Gumma is a great one too.....gaaaa my heads going to explode.
swampash Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I love Atom Heart Mother, it's always been my favourite. My favourite song is Echoes from Meddle though. :)
Aster1 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Maybe I missed it but "Dark Side & Wish You Were Here" are my 2 favs. almost equal. Like Animals and I can't begin to recall how many times I zoned out with Echo's from Meddle. Yeah the Chemical days for sure and all those colors flying around. Those beastie-creeper sounds during that long run still remember after 45 yrs. Aster
