machine Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 I have a Gibson Les Paul Classic 2015, and have recently read about Gibsons Quick Connect Pickups. I'm happy with mine, but if it takes 5 minutes and only a screwedriver to replace them, I'd get a Dirty Fingers to experiment a bit. How can you tell which Gibson models have the Quick Connect boards in them (I know I can just take off the back plate, but am curious how to tell if buying the guitar online, for instance)?
Guest Farnsbarns Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Google something like "model quick connect pickups". You could also look at the spec on gibson.com. Not sure if that detail is always listed. Lastly, you could call or email Gibson to ask them. Since you're not buying onlone but have the guitar you can obviously look.

I already mentioned that in my original post, and I did take of the back plate on mine without any problems (it does have quick connect). I was just wondering how to find that out, if I were to buy an SG online, for instance. The pickup circuit board is not mentioned on the Gibson website, nor did I find anything when googling "Gibson Les Paul Classic 2015 Quick Connect". Emailing would probably work, but I'm surprised they don't have a list of compatible guitars or the quick connect feature listed in the specs anywhere, unless they fit them on all Gibson guitars nowadays.

Yeah it is something they should mention in the specs!
