Just saw on 2 media sources, that Paul Kantner, of Jefferson Airplane, and (early) Hot Tuna,

has passed away, at 74! Man, the original "Classic Rock" musicians, are dropping like

flies, recently! [crying]

R.I.P. Paul! Thanks, for the Great Music, all these years!

i was always a fan. loved the airplane and the J.Starship (most of it). got to see Jefferson Starship several times in the 70's. & the airplane on their reunion tour. was front row center at merriweather post for the reunion. best time was when kantner did a tour with tuna, just acoustic shows. saw them at the chestnut cabaret i think it was, in Philly. one thing about getting old, all the people i admire are leaving... really sucks. RIP Paul.

What a string of bad luck.

A (white) baby boy born in the US in 1950 could expect to live to 67 years old and, sadly, I'm not sure most RnR lifestyles of the 60's and 70's were conducive to beating the odds. It seems to be coming on home these days.

RIP.

Jimmy Bain passed away this week too - a good hard rock bassist who played with Ritchie Blackmore and Dio and had a decent band of his own back in th day.

Just saw the same and put a post on another board. So far, 2016 has not been good to rock n roll as a whole.

I don't know if you guys noticed that buried in the news late last week was the report that on the same day Paul Kantner died, original Jefferson Airplane female lead singer Signe Anderson also died.

Though nowhere near as well known as Grace Slick, she is the vocalist on the JA's first album, "Takes Off."

The same day? How weird/ironic is that?! [scared][unsure]

At this rate we'll only have Keith Richards, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift left by Christmas.

I'd be *TOTALLY* ok if Justin Bieber was next. Just sayin'! [rolleyes]
