EC-Special ??

Hello Everyone,

I'm know here so please bear with me. I'm considering the purchase of a nice Gloss Black 2006 EC Special. I cant seem to find much information on line concerning this model and would appreciate any help at all . From what I can determine it is probably a model made specifically for Guitar Center. If so how many of these would be in circulation and I would also like to know any of the details on construction materials , IE: back and sides ?? I am concerned as to whether or not Gibson actually made this model or if it could be something that is fake ??

I'm far from an expert, but to me it looks like a J185EC, or might be a J180EC (same as the J185, but a bit less fancy). Yes, GC (along with Sweetwater and some other big stores) often have their own model of a specific guitar made)...and hey, welcome to the forum. I imagine you're going to get your questions about the guitar answered. Lots of knowledgeable folks in here.
