It's Sunbury all over again. I'm still waiting for my money from 1975.

Sounds like "thereby hangs a tale"....?

I remember hearing about the Sunbury festival and the album of it.

How do you rip off Ministry? Al Jourgensen is not someone I think I would want to owe any money to. When he met Paul McCartney he told him he was a ***** and that he's a John Lennon Guy. He died 3 times and is a Cuban from Chicago. Not a good combo.

My goodness, that's a pretty long list of hefty sums owed to a lot of bands… Did anyone get paid? Who got all the money. Anyone indicted or going to jail for extortion? Who were the organizers… Remind me not to work for them anytime soon… Sheeze

Soundwave would maybe take $30m in ticket sales and maybe add a few more for concessions rental and give a couple back for rent and insurance of venues etc.. so assuming that the bands managers had the good sense to get say 50% upfront, at those amounts owed this looks like a pretty poor business model to me.

they've cancelled this year and next so its obviously all over. Shame really - $200 to see all those bands, with the big acts doing 90min sets. I'll pay nearly that to see Sabbath do their gig!

All good points.

Truth is, not all gigs work out, and I think we ALL know it.

While the list seems complete and accurate, what it leaves out is how much and who DID get paid. Could very well be the case a lot of the bands listed as "owed" are happy with what they got paid, and the festival just didn't bring in what they expected.
