lebueno Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hi guys Im restoring my 1973 Les Paul and need to find a toggle switch backplate only my one needs an oval backplate with 4 screws and everywhere seems to only sell circle ones with 3 screws. Does anyne know where I can get one? Or even have one laying around? Thanks
capmaster Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hello Lebueno, and welcome to this nice place in the web. Can you provide a photo showing your Les Paul's back? I never saw one of these with an oval toggle switch cover. Do you still have the original screws? Anyway, a good luthier workshop will be able to cut a matching backplate I think.
lebueno Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Have just found out today that is a 1974 "55 reissue Gibson Les Paul Special. Unfortunatlel the origional screws are long gone, probably with the backplate. As I am new here, I'm not quite sure how to upload a picture. I have one on my computer but the upload button is asking for a URL? Could you advise what to do am I will upload one then
lebueno Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Ah I've figured it out now. I am now the third owner of this guitar. Unfortunately the first owner has swapped out everything but the toggle switch for Ibanez parts. Can't get my head round the reasoning for that one either...
retrorod Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Most likely, you will need to make your own, or have someone make one for it.
